Hey, guys! Welcome back! We are currently in the middle of a huge move, and need to get organized. I am guilty for losing my keys because I NEVER put them away in a visible area. In today’s blogpost, I am coming to you with an easy DIY key holder that also doubles as a message board. All for under $15 (and it’s renter-friendly)!
STEP 1: TAPE OFF AREA
Use tape to mark off area of cork board you want to paint. Note: Be creative by making some geometric shape with the tape.
STEP 2: PAINT
Paint preferred taped off area. Note: This may take a few coats as the cork board soaks up the paint
STEP 3: PAINT DRY
After letting the paint dry, remove the tape from the cork board.
STEP 4: ATTACH CLIP & HOOK
Next, you will need to attach you magnetic clip and command hook using hot glue. Adhere the command hook on the painted surface, then adhere the magnetic clip on the cork board side.
STEP 5: HANG
Lastly, hang your key holders on the wall. I used command strips to adhere them, but using nails will work just fine!
This DIY project is quite easy and very functional! You can leave messages for other family members on this board and have a secure place to store your keys! I like to display pictures of the family until we can actually be under one roof. Hope you enjoyed this tutorial! Happy crafting!
