8.5 x 11 Scrapbook Layout | “Love This” feat Maggie Holmes
Are you stuck in a rut, and need some scrapbook inspiration? Here’s a quick 8.5 x 11 scrapbook layout featuring Maggie Holmes and other American Crafts products!
Today, I have an easy scrapbook layout for those crafters looking for an easy scraplift. This layout was something I put together quickly because it was the end of the day, and way passed my bedtime! Of course, I grabbed the first picture I saw on my desk, a picture from my maternity shoot. Sometimes grabbing a picture gives me just the motivation I need to scrapbook!

Crate Paper “Craft Market“
Grabbing my scrap bin, I went to town pulling out all the paper that I could use to play off the green I have going on in my dress. This 8.5 x 11 scrapbook layout would go in my maternity album, so this was my opportunity to use all the pink papers I had in my stash! However, I ended up using a lot of pastel colors on this scrapbook layout. I mean…I was having another boy.
As usual, I had no idea where to start. So, I grabbed the black and white pattern paper from the Dear Lizzy “Documentary” collection, and pondered on what to do next. Surprisingly, it was already cut down, so I refrained from cutting it anymore. This decision resulted in the vertical design you see in this scrapbook layout.
Next, I need to add some details to this scrapbook layout. So, of course, I pulled embellishments from everywhere! Primarily I used Maggie Holmes & Crate Paper products to do this. The overall goal was to use the cake stand from the “Confetti” collection, thus triggering me to use the florals from Crate Paper “Craft Market” collection.
Disappointingly, I will say this until I am blue in the face, THERE IS NO SCIENCE BEHIND LAYERING! I go off of feel when I layer on my scrapbook layouts. If you have ever caught any of my process videos on YouTube, you will notice that this is the hardest part for me! I go back-and-forth deciding whether or not something looks right.
Here's how I start the process:
For starters, I grab my scrap bin and look for small pieces that go with my color scheme. I then place the pieces on the on BOTH sides of my focal point (balance is key when layering).
Next, I begin layering my embellishments on this scrapbook layout. Again, I go by feel when laying my embellishments. However, I remember to make my invisible triangle. Once I feel like “I am complete” then I bless my layout as done…but not before I add my signature splatters!
I promise you that this 8.5 x 11 scrapbook layout is easy to scraplift! I challenge you to try something similar! All you need is 30 minutes of free time, and you can recreate this it! Remember, the key is to document the moment! Happy scrapping!
